If you live in Kansas City you know it’s a great place to live. Our city has a rich history, beautiful architecture and a slew of amazing fountains! With the gorgeous spring weather we are anticipating this weekend you might consider taking a walk around our unique city and you never know, you might just learn something new.
Take a stroll around the River Market or Loose Park on a beautiful Saturday afternoon, or walk through Brookside in the early evening. Walking tours guided by trained volunteers are available on the Country Club Plaza, at Union Station, in the Library District and in the Crossroads District. Union Station offers tours that provide a peek into the past history of this landmark and Kansas City.
Historic Kansas City, a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of Kansas City’s heritage offers several volunteer and self-guided walking tours in areas such as, 18th and Vine, Downtown and the Country Club Plaza. They also offer a Kansas City Fountains tour of 32 area fountains.
Walking trails are popping up all over the city and in many neighborhoods, some go on for miles and provide fresh air and chance to enjoy nature.
