In the Community
Dr. Green volunteers his time in the community with two great aviation charities.
Angel Flight Central
Dr. Mark Green is proud of his time flying as a volunteer pilot with Angel Flight Central. Angel Flight Central is a national organization of volunteer pilots who fly patients and their families to access specialized medical care around the United States. Angel Flight Central is headquartered in Kansas City, MO. People would not normally be able to reach the care they need without dedicated and compassionate pilots who donate their time, resources and talent to fly these patients to treatment. Dr. Green has flown patients as far as Houston, Texas and Rochester, Minnesota and routinely flies voluntary missions throughout the Midwest.
“Philanthropy has always been so important to me. I have such a passion for flying airplanes and Angel Flight Central is such a great organization that pairs pilots like me with people in need to access healthcare they desperately need. It is such a great feeling to be able to give back to those in need.” Dr. Green said.
Dr. Green also volunteers his time and talent with Challenge Air. Challenge Air’s mission statement is to build self esteem of children and youth with special needs through the experience of flight.
Dr. Green, an experienced pilot, takes children with special needs for a 20-minute plane ride having the children as his “co-pilot”. The children are able to navigate the plane while Dr. Green stays in command of the aircraft.
Dr. Green takes the child and his/her family for a tour of Kansas City landmarks like the Plaza, the sports stadiums and Worlds of Fun. It provides the family with a bird’s eye view of these KC landmarks.
